Welcome to the Nest! A place to tinker and talk story.
The Nest Makerspace is a mini neighborhood lab/makespace on the island of O’ahu in Mānoa Valley. It is centered on playful hands-on making, elevating ancestral science knowledge, frugal science tools, and biomaterial design as we dream abundant futures and empower more people to see themselves as shapers of that vision.
As Hawai’i tackles pressing environmental pollution issues and sustainability issues, we need hyper-local research and development hubs that can amplify local cultural and community knowledge to drive innovation specific to Hawaii's needs. This space aims to be a playful knowledge sharing space which uplifting local issues and interests, while also serving as a little incubator space connected to other biodesign and education spaces, both formal and informal.
